Calumino Launches CTS3001 Thermal Sensor Platform for Intelligent Sensing

Low-power, wide-view platform enables scalable occupancy, safety, and automation applications

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif., June 8, 2026 — Calumino today announced the CTS3001, a next-generation thermal sensor platform designed to deliver real-time occupancy and environmental intelligence for embedded systems in smart buildings, industrial automation, and security. As demand grows for real-time occupancy and environmental awareness, existing sensing approaches, ranging from simple motion detectors to camera-based systems, are increasingly constrained by trade-offs between performance, cost, and privacy. The CTS3001 eliminates this trade-off by enabling practical, privacy-preserving sensing that can be deployed at scale.

“The industry has been forced to choose between simple sensors that lack intelligence and complex systems that are difficult to integrate and scale,” said Yalcin Bulut, CEO of Calumino. “CTS3001 changes that by delivering a thermal sensing platform purpose-built for efficient integration and large-scale deployment.”

Engineered for Embedded Integration

Built around a 20 × 15 infrared array with high thermal sensitivity, the CTS3001 is engineered for continuous operation in embedded environments. The device delivers thermal data through a standard MIPI interface, allowing straightforward connection to embedded processors and edge AI systems.

Rather than leaving developers to interpret raw sensor data, the CTS3001 is designed as a complete sensing platform. Software libraries and processing support convert thermal inputs into real-time occupancy and environmental insights, reducing development effort and enabling faster deployment of intelligent application

Enabling Scalable Real-World Applications

With a wide 140° × 100° field of view, the CTS3001 enables coverage of large areas with fewer devices, improving system efficiency and lowering installation cost. The platform supports applications including occupancy detection and people counting, HVAC and lighting control, security and intrusion detection, and non-contact temperature monitoring.

By delivering reliable performance across all lighting conditions while preserving privacy, Calumino’s technology provides a compelling alternative to both motion-based and camera-based systems, combining the simplicity of traditional sensors with the intelligence of vision systems, without capturing identifiable imagery.

The CTS3001 thermal sensing platform is available now. Evaluation kits are available from DigiKey, enabling rapid prototyping and system integration. For more information, visit www.calumino.com or contact support@calumino.com
